Hermle in the specialist press.
Hermle Open House 26.-29.04.2017 despite wintry weather on the Swabian Alb
Despite the snowy and icy weather in southern Germany, a large number of visitors from around the world still made the trip to Heuberg to keep abreast of the latest development trends in milling, milling-turning and generative manufacturing at Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle AG. There was a warm welcome and a high level of care and service for the more than 2,700 visitors from 1,200 companies, including 900 international guests. The visitors from over 30 countries, including large delegations from neighbouring European countries, such as the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, as well as numerous firms from Russia, the USA, South Korea, Japan and Mexico, were highly appreciative of the Hermle products on show.
Numerous machines equipped with unique automation solutions were showcased and demonstrated under production conditions to satisfy the growing trend towards increased automation, especially in terms of the requirements of Industry 4.0. This also applied to the highlight of the Open House exhibition, the new handling system HS flex.
HS flex enables the individual automation of variously sized Hermle machine models. Furthermore, Hermle in-house software solutions, including tools such as HACS (Hermle-Automation-Control-System), HIMS (Hermle-Information-Monitoring-System) and Remote Desktop, to name just a few, had their own presentation platform.
Needless to say, visitors had the opportunity to explore and learn about more than 20 machine models fitted with ingenious machining solutions for various industry sectors, such as tool and mould making, aerospace, mechanical engineering, medical technology and model making.
A special show featuring over 60 exhibitors from the fields of clamping devices, software and hardware was also well received. In addition to this special show, many interesting technical presentations gave visitors a greater understanding of the show’s main topics.
Staff from our User College were also on hand to provide tips + tricks and host live demonstrations of programming and training at Hermle products.
Hermle service competence and the Service Training department were presented separately at two machining centres. Extensive diagnostic and service tools showed users how quickly and competently Hermle Service can be on the scene to solve the problem at hand.
Hermle subsidiary Hermle Maschinenbau GmbH was presented in an exhibit featuring components generatively manufactured using MPA technology (Metal Powder Application process). The Hermle training department's presentation of training concepts was also a very popular exhibit.
Guided factory tours gave visitors the unique opportunity to experience first-hand the state-of-the-art production and assembly facilities, the Hermle Training department and Hermle's automation subsidiary Hermle-Leibinger Systemtechnik GmbH.
